FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • If have a previous tattoo/Permanent Make-Up. Can I book an appointment with you?

Short answer, it depends. We will need to see some pictures without make-up to check the color and intensity of the previous work.  Also, we might have to use some correction color, which results in an extra cost. The name of the service for these is: Cover Ups - Correction Brows.

  • What are the most popular eyebrow techniques?

There are many options out there, but most are temporary examples include: Threading, waxing, tinting, lamination. When it comes to long terms brows there are many options to pick from: Microblading, Nano Strokes, Microshading, Ombré Powder Brows, etc. However, the most popular ones are either Microblading or Ombré Powder Brows.

  • Is Microblading or Ombré Powder Brows better?

I actually used to do Microblading, but I have moved away from that technique to focus on Ombré Powder Brows. Some of the reasons I moved away from Microblading are:

  1. Because they damage more the skin (they cut it to deposit the pigments, and if the artist is not careful they can easily be cutting too deep). . On the other hand, Ombré Powder Brows will only scratch the top layer of your skin to deposit the pigments with a super thin needle.

  2. Microblading only works on dry skin types. I have heard so many clients complain that their Microblading did not last, and I always ask them if they have oily skin, and the answer is always yes. It seems there is a lot of miscommunication from artist to clients, and they are not sharing the fact that their results might fade quick due to their skin type. On the other hand, Ombré Powder Brows will work for any skin type!

  3. Microblading tends to be more painful as it involves cutting!

  4. Ombré Powder Brows will last way longer than Microblading. After the first 2 initial appointments you can expect the results to last 1-2 years!

For those reasons I have to say Ombré Powder Brows are actually better.

  • How many sessions will I need for perfect Ombré Powder Brows?

Typically you would need the first session and, 4-6 weeks later, a second session (First Touch-Up). After that it will depend on how your skin takes the color, but you will likely have to return 12-24 months later for a maintenance Touch-Ups. But again, the timing for the second and any future touch-ups will vary for each person.

  • Are Ombré Powder Brows safe?

Yes, as long as you follow the list of instructions before the appointment, and none of the disqualifications apply to you. Click here to read more about the disqualifications list.
Additionally is important to pick an artist who follows all of the health regulations from the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and is up to date with their Blood Pathogens Credentials.

  • Are Ombré Powder Brows permanent?

Yes, and no. Ombré Powder Brows are semi-permanent. What this means is that the results fade overtime, but it never fades 100%, which means it is permanent to some degree, but not like regular tattooing where it fades 0%. Over the years these powder brows can fade to around 90% if you didn’t continue doing any of the maintenance touch-ups.

  • Are Ombré Powder Brows worth it?

Yes! Ombré Powder Brows have many benefits that will improve your daily routine and allow you to save so much time. Just think about all the time you will save penciling in your brows in the mornings. Ombré Powder Brows are also smudge proof, waterproof, and stress free. For all these reasons they are totally worth the investment.

  • Can Ombré Powder Brows get wet?

Yes! Ombré Powder Brows are waterproof! The only time you should not be getting your brows wet is during the first 10-14 days after any first session, or subsequent touch-up appointments.

  • How long does it take for eyebrows to heal?

Everyone is different, but typically your eyebrows will heal in 2 weeks after your first session. Check our Aftercare section for more information.

  • Do Ombré Powder Brows hurt? Is it painful?

We use a topical (gel) anesthetic to reduce discomfort, and allow you to relax during the procedure. In fact, some clients do fall asleep during the procedure as it can be actually relaxing. Additionally, you could experience some tenderness right after the procedure, which should go away within a few day after the procedure.

The typical cost usually ranges from $250-800 for the initial appointment. $250 being with a new artist, and $800 with a senior artist with a very exclusive clientele. Any subsequent touch-ups range from $50-250.

With us the typical price for Ombré Powder Brows would be around $500 for the first year (initial appointment + touch-up), and then around $200/year (with 1 maintenance touch-up). The initial year might sound a little high, but honestly most women spend more than that per year on things like nails or eyelashes.
